Amanda Perfect - Narellan Vale PS
Amanda Perfect is the current school sport organiser at Narellan Vale PS where school sport involvement and the opportunities it provides are highly valued. Amanda has been extremely active in this role.
At school level Amanda has coached numerous school teams. Being a member of the Narellan Vale PS teaching staff, Amanda has greatly influenced the sporting culture of the school, encouraging involvement in a variety of opportunities for both teaching students and staff.
She is also the current secretary of the Razorback Zone after many years of being Equipment Officer and Vice President. In her varying roles Amanda has overseen the three major carnivals and student participation at Zone trials.
Amanda’s dynamic approach has encouraged local students to participate in school and zone programs, with many gaining representation at the regional and state level. Her involvement with school and zone athletics, cross country and swimming teams has provided the opportunity for many students to participate at Sydney South West regional events.
As well as coaching roles, Amanda has assisted in the development of less experienced colleagues in the sporting sphere, ensuring that they are aware that school sport is about provision of opportunities for students, enabling them to take part in competitive situations and testing themselves against each other.
Amanda’s passion for school sport has seen her leadership skills grow in her roles with the Razorback Zone PSSA, by developing programs that keep students interested in competitive sport, to continue to develop their skills, and to promote positive sportsmanship in a competitive sporting environment. These programs developed have allowed students to be involved in inter-school activities in sports that they may not necessarily get the opportunity to participate in outside of school.
Amanda is an active contributor to Sydney South West School Sport by being involved at major carnivals and acting as a convener throughout her career in the region.
Through Amanda’s passion for participation in school sport the opportunities for many students throughout Sydney South West have been significantly enhanced. This has also been highlighted by her ability to involve and mentor younger staff members who are able to see the benefits of physical activity as a positive contribution to healthy lifestyles.
