School Sport Unit

With Term 4 already well underway I’m sure everyone is very busy with reports, end of year activities and planning for 2018. The October eNewsletter as always is packed with information and opportunities. In other news:

• Over 3,000 teachers have participated in School Sport Unit Teacher Professional Learning activities this year and plans for the 2018 workshops are well underway. A number of new or  improved support options will exist for schools and sports organisers very soon and will be advertised via this eNewsletter and SchoolBiz in the near future. 
• A special thank you to all NSWPSSA and NSWCHS zone, region and state conveners, coaches and managers who take on these extra tasks and congratulations on the tremendous opportunities you provide the students.

• New to the role of a sport organiser or would like to update your knowledge and skills?
• A teacher who would like to develop or review procedures for the organisation and management of sport?

Building skills as a sport organiser is a series of 5 separate online courses (total of 22 hours - Proficient) aiming to build teacher knowledge and skills to deliver quality and safe school sport programs.

Developing procedures for school sport (3hrs - Proficient) and Reviewing procedures for school sport (10hours - Highly accomplished) are 2 separate courses which support teachers to adapt and reflect on their school’s organisation and management of sport and physical activity. The procedures are a mandatory requirement of the Sport and Physical Activity Policy.
