School registrations
There are limited spots available Term 1 and Term 2, 2027. If your school wishes to register for this period, please contact our office directly by email schoolswimming@det.nsw.edu.au to discuss availability.
Primary schools
Primary schools can select from the following options:
- The 10 day swimming and water safety program (Yellow program), which focuses on building water safety skills and confidence in less proficient swimmers. It emphasises the development of proper swimming techniques, water safety awareness and confidence, while also introducing competitive strokes.
- The 5 day survival swimming program (Blue program), which focuses on survival skills, water safety and the use of life jackets, including activities like a "clothing day." This program is suitable for all primary students in Year 2 and above, regardless of prior swimming ability.
- A combination of both programs, tailored for different year groups.
The program can be delivered in two ways:
- Centrally coordinated, where the School Sport Unit's school swimming and water safety team arranges the pool booking and swim teachers, with schools arranging student transportation.
- School managed, where the school organises the entire program, including swim teachers, student transportation and pool booking, with funding for swim teachers provided through the School Swimming and Water Safety.
